Welcome to Baxter+Bayard…

Baxter+Bayard was conceived by Stephanie Olivero in the spring of 2020, from a desire to create high quality, playful, and natural baby products for all. We wanted our designs to feel whimsical, yet sophisticated; and to inspire good feelings and connection to others and our world. Therefore, our products are made with earth conscious practices, that give back, and improve the lives of others and ourselves. It starts with a blanket: large, versatile, colorful, unique and organic of course. Our products are made with soft, organic cotton, void of unwanted chemicals. We and our loved ones deserve better.

My love for fashion and lifestyle started young, from mixing menswear inspired footwear and ponchos as a kid, creating/selling hair accessories to a local kid shop in my tweens, to wearing oversized men's 3 piece suits with the perfect shade of red lipstick as a young adult. This love of fashion drove my early career in NYC as a merchandiser/buyer for Saks, Barneys New York, and J.Crew.

When I became a mom in 2004, I sought unique products for my daughter, but was uninspired by the limited and conventional designs in baby collections: faint prints of baby ducks and teddy bears, in color options of baby blue, pink and yellow --the animal designs and color palettes were very limited. Surprisingly, baby blankets in 2019 still lacked the availability of animal and color alternatives, let alone gender neutrality (there is no reason for pink to be restricted to girls, or blue to be identified as "a boy color").

I create my designs in Bedford, New York, and collaborate with international artists and manufacturers to execute my final products with an eye for detail; the expression of the animal, the width of the stripe, the scale of the argyle, the weight of the fabric... Our first collection includes 5 unique animal designs and a palette of 24 colors in our designs - our animals include Foxes, Lemurs, Giraffes, Sloths and French Bulldogs, with many more to come.

Thank you for joining us! And feel free to drop a line anytime - I would love to hear from you.
